昨天介紹過 W220 S500L 的神奇事蹟後,今天來介紹下一代的 W221 S500L。
進化到 W221,S500 引擎是歷來最大一顆的 5.5 V8 DOHC(所以美規稱為 S550L),一舉將原先三汽門單凸的舊款引擎馬力大幅放大,但也因為剛好跨過臺灣排氣量課稅的級距,W221 S500L 的銷量並不如 W220,絕大多數路上看得到的 S500 都是 S300 改一個 logo 而成的。
要從外觀分辨 S500 與否,除了可能讓人上當的 logo 以外,標配 18 吋五幅大餅鋁圈也是一個。但這款鋁圈有很多 S350L 會加價選配,再來就是絕招了。在歷代 S-Class 當中,就只有 W221 可以從車頭直接分辨出是哪一種汽缸的,你看得出來嗎?
S500、S450 這類八缸車款,下巴的橫向格柵採用的是與車身同色設計,所以見到這樣的車頭,肯定是 S450 或 S500。由於臺灣賓士只有一批 S450L,所以是 S500L 的機率非常高
S350L/S300L 這些六缸車款配的是七爪 17 吋鋁圈,下巴橫柵為黑色
頂級的 S600L,除了 18 吋五爪大餅圈之外,水箱罩也有直向內部鍍鉻;而下巴橫柵則是鍍鉻的,其實還挺好辨認的

The S500(550)L after 2009 or 2010 has 4.6 Twinturbo V8 with 435hp, more powerful than 5.5 V8 NA (388hp). [版主回覆05/18/2013 11:34:24]It is for the latest regulation about emission. Every manufacture has to negotiate with turbo charger. Actually, TOYOTA Hybrid does the same character as turbo charger: low emission with higher performance. The only difference between them is the intellectual property. No matter Merc S450h, Cadillac Hybrid, NISSAN Hybrid all come from TOYOTA. Those manufactures found that it is not good deal if keeping buy patent from TOYOTA. Turbo Charger would be better idea. So that almost every Merc and Bimmer replace NA engine by turbo-charged small capacity engine, which produces more power and less emission.
